Stressful Return Back Home (May)

I had finally decided to return home, I still had not gotten an answer for my work visa and I would need to move out of my dorm room by May 10. Other issues were that I would not be allowed to get housing or rent a hotel during the circuit breaker and my student visa would expire by mid May. I notified the UH alumni right away of my decision to return home and we briefly met up at his office for the first time. He had offered me the opportunity to intern if I returned to Singapore.

Getting a flight back home was very stressful, I called the booking website (Expedia) and found out that the flight that I had booked got canceled a few days before the departure date (May 10). The staff that I talked to on Expedia would only offer me flight credits for Singapore Airlines and not refund my money. I had to call Expedia several times to ask for my money instead of flight credits because it was the airline that canceled the flight and not me. I packed my things and was ready to leave at anytime, I booked a United Airlines flight and left the next day (May 9).

Once I was home, I was very relieved to be with my family. I had to quarantine myself in my room for 2 weeks to make sure that I did not spread COVID-19 if I had gotten it.
