During recess week my friends and I traveled to Taiwan, we went to Taipei and Tainan. This was my first time going to Taiwan and it was absolutely amazing! In Taipei, we lived in an Airbnb and in Tainan we lived with our Taiwanese friend's family. The first night that we landed, we headed to Shi Lin Night Market. We were immediately greeted by a large variety of delicious smelling street food. My favorite was the bite sized pan fried dumplings, the spicy sauce that came with it was a perfect match. The bonus was that the food was very cheap and the exchange rate for Taiwanese dollars was good. Trying the brown sugar milk with boba was also a must when visiting Taiwan. We went to the original Xing Fu Tang to get the brown sugar milk with boba and there was a very long line, however, it was worth the wait. After a few days in Taipei we rode the high speed rail to Tainan. Our friend's mom came to pick us up from the station and took us to their home. Right when we arrived at her home, we were greeted by a friendly Pomeranian named Dabo. I really enjoyed staying at my friend's home, her family was very hospitable and her grandma made delicious vegetarian meals. I am so glad to have gone to Taiwan during recess week :)
